Why B[u]y Khmer?

It's a really exciting time to be in(to) social business in Cambodia. Whether you're a social entrepreneur, an NGO with a social business, an academic specialising in development economics, or an interested consumer, it's a fun time to explore Cambodian social business!

There are many different kinds of social businesses being set up, and there is much dialogue going on (in Cambodia and beyond) about what is social business and how can it be done well.

I've been mainly on the fringes of this discussion, and I want to jump in! I'm a development practitioner, aspiring social entrepreneur, economic sociologist, researcher, etc. I like the idea of having a space where many people can contribute to the dialogue, from many different perspectives.

Hence, the broad aim of this blog:

A place for dialogue, a place to ask and wrestle over questions of responsible business, a place for social/ethical/responsible business owners and leaders to share their ethos and vision and story, a place for reviews of products, services, and businesses - IN CAMBODIA!!!

I am not an expert, I just love dialogue, and I love collaboration! I invite anyone to contribute - as long as your post is not just a shameless product plug ;)

Looking forward to starting this adventure!
